Hip, hip, hooray for hip dysplasia! It was discovered at birth that Maddison’s hips were dislocated. Maddison’s hips would be in a Pavlik Harness, then a spica cast, and on to a Rhino Cruiser to correct the dislocation.
Twelve long weeks have come to a close, and Maddison is officially out of her spica cast. Good bye purple cast, hello legs! We are so much closer to being done with hip dysplasia – and hopefully it’s for forever!

I am noticing that the more time we spend in the hospital environment, the more comfortable I am with all the unknowns. Things don’t always turn out the way we had hoped and imagined. I am much more prepared for that now. Maddison’s cast application was no different.
